STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J.--The Walters Group welcomes two new tenants to the retail mix at Stafford Park – Dick’s Sporting Goods and PetSmart.
Both retailers will be holding their grand opening celebrations this month, marking their debut in the Stafford Township market. The grand openings will be held on August 17 for Dick’s Sporting Goods and August 30 for PetSmart.
The new 50,000-sf Dick’s Sporting Goods in Manahawkin is the first to open in Ocean County and the 13th in New Jersey. The company operates 348 Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in 38 states primarily throughout the eastern half of the U.S. Previously, residents of the area had to drive approximately 35 miles to either Mount Laurel or Mays Landing to shop at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
PetSmart will be opening a 20,508-sf store at Stafford Park, employing approximately 25 to 30 employees. The company operates 13 stores in southern New Jersey and 36 stores throughout the state. Each PetSmart store carries more than 13,000 products for dogs, cats, small pets, reptiles, domestic and wild birds, fish, as well as pond equipment and accessories.
Stafford Park is being built with the future in mind, with all construction to meet the standards of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building rating system for how buildings and communities are designed, built and operated. By securing LEED certification, Stafford Park will become one of the few private projects in the country entirely LEED certified. The retail portion of Stafford Park is expected to meet the requirement for Silver LEED.
Construction of Stafford Park, which began last year, has been progressing on schedule, according to the Walters Group. Earlier this year, the Ocean County Board of Social Services and the Ocean County Health Department moved their offices into a 19,500-sf building within the business park.
