Atlantic Coast Media Group Celebrates New HQ in Jersey City By Betsy Kraat

JERSEY CITY--With aplomb, the ceremonial ribbon on the new headquarters of the Atlantic Coast Media Group at 499 Washington Blvd. was cut last night by Mayor Jerramiah Healy, State Senator Sandra Cunningham, Linda Kellner, Acting Director of the State’s Business Action Center and company executives in Jersey City.

Other speakers and attendees at the fantastic event included Assemblyman Rubin Ramos, Assemblyman Charles Mainor, Assemblywoman Caridad Rodriguez, Assemblyman Scott Rumana, Jersey City Councilman Steven Fulop and many others. In discussing the addition of the company to Jersey City, Mayor Healy said, “We are pleased to welcome such a vibrant and growing company to our city and look forward to a productive future together.”

Atlantic Coast Media Group Founder/CEOs Andrew Surwilo and Thomas Shipley also spoke. Shipley thanked the Jersey City Mayor and other dignitaries, “We are so thrilled to be welcomed to our new home in Jersey City and appreciate the opportunity to do business here,” he continued, “To provide jobs at this crucial time for New Jersey’s families is truly a privilege we take very seriously.”

Surwilo mentioned the support it received from the State of New Jersey through the Business Employment Incentive Program (BEIP) and noted that it was a prime reason the company chose to remain and grow in the State. Surwilo said, “We have been fortunate to grow through these tough economic times and our hiring of 153 New Jersey employees is a direct result of the State’s assistance. While others look to outsource overseas, we believe that the best talent is sourced from our local communities,” noting that the company plans to hire at least 140 more due to the state grant. ACMG currently has a total of 340 in their workforce.

“Atlantic Coast Media Group is a great example of the successful businesses that are growing in New Jersey as a result of the Christie Administration’s commitment to job retention and business–friendly approach to economic development,” said Linda Kellner, Acting Director of the Business Action Center. “We applaud Atlantic Coast Media’s success and look forward to watching them continue to grow and create even more jobs in New Jersey.”
