ASBURY, NJ--J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc. has completed a new $10 million headquarters facility and warehouse/distribution center for Cigars International, a subsidiary of Swedish Match AB.
The new facility is located at 1911 Spillman Drive in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania within Bethlehem Commerce Center at Lehigh Valley Industrial Park VII. The park occupies a portion of the former Bethlehem Steel plant and is one of the nation’s largest brownfield sites.
As a result of the investment, Cigars International has preserved 175 jobs and will be adding at least 50 more permanent jobs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The construction alone at the state-of-art facility led to the creation of roughly 150 jobs. Cigars International, the country's second largest retailer of premium, hand-rolled cigars, is presently located at 6771 Chrisphalt Drive in Bath, Pennsylvania. The company’s parent, Swedish Match, based in Stockholm, Sweden is a more than $1.8 billion global enterprise with nearly 12,000 employees and manufacturing operations in 10 countries.
The new headquarters will almost triple the space currently occupied by Cigars International at its Bath facility. Building features include a 41,706 sf humidor, 15,000 sf of office space, including a call center and 56,828 sf of pick/pack and storage space. The facility has a 28’ clear ceiling height, 45’-6” x 45’-0” bay spacing and 10 overhead doors with dock levelers.
